DESCRIPTION

The goal of this learning scenario is to enhance learners' language experiences by engaging them in a variety of reading, writing, listening and speaking activites related to the process of exploring job possibilities. Its intention is to help learners make informed choices regarding their selection of a career. In this scenario, learners are made aware of the roles that personality, interests and skills play in determining careers that are best suited to themselves. At the same time, they are introduced to a myriad of occupations that mark the fast-changing world of the 21st century.

INTENTION PÉDAGOGIQUE

LS1-Assessing Personality, Intersts and Skills To help adult learners understand and use simple everyday language in order to prepare themselves to explore job possibilities by `taking stock` of their personality traits, interests and skills. LS2-Choosing a Field of Work To help adult learners understand and use simple everyday language in order to discover fields of work that best suit their personalities, interests and skills. LS3-Focusing on Specific Occupations To help adult learners understand and use simple everyday language in order to competently choose occupations best suited to them.
