Translation and adaptation of a learning situation created by Christine Tibolla from CSMV. Presentation of the situation:

This learning situation must be used when learners have studied metric and trigonometric relations. It permits the development of three subject-specific competencies, but the primary objective is to foster the learner’s internal visual representation. Thus, no diagrams are presented to the learner for each task.

The first task is guided and enables learners to understand the steps required to solve a situational problem. This task is followed by a questionnaire, which allows learners to self-regulate so that they can realize their strengths or shortcomings with respect to solving the situational problem.

The two other tasks are not guided and enable the instructor to evaluate learners’ capacity to make a visual representation and solve situational problems.
