In this learning situation, the student needs to choose between two all-inclusive vacation packages. This LS is designed to have the student visualize what it’s like at a resort (or reflect on their prior experiences) in order to enable them to think ahead of questions they’ll be asking their friend.

This LS has the student practise making a choice with open-ended options. There is no right or wrong answer – the purpose is to have the student explain the reasons for their choice.

This LS works strategies with the student. It’s an LS, not an LES. It works well when given before an LES to teach the student how to adopt strategies, like prediction and self-evaluation.
