DESCRIPTION

Whether for navigation, travel by car or space exploration, geographical positioning requires mathematical calculations. In this formative assessment, the adult learner will apply his / her knowledge on geometric loci to obtain information regarding geographical positioning and movement. A demonstration task completes the learning situation

INTENTION PÉDAGOGIQUE

Interpret the reality using geometric loci;

Mobilize acquired knowledge in order to apply them in a real-life context;

Evaluate the level of competency in solving the complex situational problem. (Competency 1 is particularly targeted).

Utilisation

The situation can be given to the adult after learning geometric loci. The first part of the learning and evaluating situation allows verifying the understanding of the concepts and the relevance of their use. The second part aims to evaluate the adult learner’s competency in representing the situations and in planning actions that he /she must use to solve them.
